World Book Day

We all really enjoyed World Book Day, everyone brought in their favourite book to talk about it

Little Beings

During our religion lessons we have been listening to stories about the Little Beings and all the difficult situations they get themselves into. Teacher decided that for art we would make the little beings. We had never seen a picture of them so we had to use our imaginations.

Magnets

We did an experiment to see which magnet was the strongest by seeing which magnet held the longest paper clip chain.

Just Dance!

It's February and we're still doing Just Dance for Kids every morning! We're dancing to Michael Jackson's song ABC in these photos. We all have our favourite songs we like to dancing to.

Reading time with 6th class

6th class came into our class to read us stories. 

January

Happy New Year! and what a start we've had to 2015. Scoil Mhuire's New Year's resolution is to be fitter so we are all moving more than we ever have before in school! Every morning we start of the day by doing  Just Dance for Kids. It is so much fun. We're also doing short exercises for a few minutes once a week- jumping jacks, jogging on the spot, hopping on one leg, it's tiring but so good for our bodies.

We've also stared reading to the Junior Infants, it's great fun. We prepare a book each fortnight and read it to the children in Junior Infants on a Friday

December

We had great fun in the lead up to Christmas. We learned Carols, Christmas songs for the Carol service and did lots of Christmas art. In these pictures we are making Christmas cards and we wrote the card as Gaeilge! We also made Christmas wreaths using cardboard boxes cut into a round shape using a plate. Then we covered it in green and red paper and put a lovely red bow on it. Santa visited the school to and we got crisps and fizzy drinks as a Christmas treat, yum!
